| QBlast ThirstBlaster began over 25 years ago. Leon Wolek was, and still is to this day, a Hockey fanatic. Wolek spent much of his early years training and playing hockey. His devotion to the sport led him to seek something to rehydrate his dehydrated body. With the help of some close friends, his parents and the family kitchen, the Wolek's set out to develop a hydration product that would really work. The original name of "the drink," two decades ago, was Leon's Q.E.M. (Quick Energy Mix). At the time, Wolek was spending a lot of time around the Chicago Black Hawks hockey organization. His unique personality opened doors to places that many would only dream to go. Wolek developed a friendship with Skip Thayer, who at that time was, the Chicago Black Hawk's trainer. Thayer allowed Wolek to set up his early Q.E.M. drink both for the home team and the visiting hockey teams. In February 1980, Wolek's dream came true. Q.E.M. played a part in history with the U.S. Olympic Hockey Team. Winning a Gold Medal by beating the Russian Hockey team, the U.S. players drank Leon's Q.E.M. A letter from the U.S. teams physician is included on this page. Also, in the late 70's and early 80's Wolek developed another friendship with an up and coming motocross rider, Mark “The Bomber” Barnett. Wolek personally trained Barnett and provided Q.E.M.for Barnett to drink. Barnett, with Wolek by his side, went on to win four motocross and Supercross championships. The same great formula that was available then is available now. Yesterday’s Q.E.M. formula is today's new and improved Q Blast™ ThirstBlaster drink. With no sugar, no caffeine, 150mg of potassium, essential electrolytes, and complex carbs for energy. This truly makes QBlast ThirstBlaster a product for the new millennium and beyond! |
